Continued growth in interface areas means that new
residents, planners, elected officials and fire personnel
need the same basic information. If you haven’t attended a
Firewise Workshop or want to offer one in your community,
this 2-day session is for you. This session will present two
different versions of the national workshop into one day each
to provide you with the skills and knowledge to conduct or
host one in your interface community or one near you. You
also will leave with the full training package to conduct a
workshop based on the National Workshops.
Day 1 — National Firewise Communities Workshop. This
session will use the materials from the national model,
including the ArcView training model for PC computers,
insider tips, and lots of background information.
Day 2 — Living on the Edge/How to Have a Firewise
Home. This session will present an alternative workshop plan
which is equivalent to the national model and has successfully
resulted in dozens of local Firewise Communities in several
states.
Local participants who attend a Firewise workshop using
either curriculum are eligible to receive a beautiful certificate of attendance
from the National Firewise Program.
Space will be limited for both Pre-Conference Workshops.
Class times are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
