Taos Pines Ranch Estates is located on the southwest edge of the spectacular Moreno Valley in northern New Mexico. It is on the National Scenic Byway known as the Enchanted Circle, which travels through the glorious Sangre de Christo Mountains. Historic Taos, the quaint Hispanic community of Questa and the summer and winter resort towns of Red River, Eagles Nest and Angel Fire are located along the byway. The drive is approximately 90 miles long and offers a variety of scenery, activities and cultures not often found in such close proximity to each other.
Taos Pines Ranch has neighboring boundaries with the Carson National Forest and Taos Pueblo. It is a developing subdivision of 100 ten-acre lots that form a private community of mountain building sites. It lies on Highway 64's Pala Flechada Pass that runs between Angel Fire and Taos.
Taos Pines Ranch is a premier Firewise Community, as it is the first established community in northern New Mexico to earn Firewise Communities/USA status. It was recognized in December 2005. It has served as a catalyst and has triggered the formation of many Firewise communities in surrounding areas. As a result of residents’ hard work, a coalition of Firewise Communities was formed with the intent of maintaining area momentum in wildfire mitigation efforts and remaining an active player in the Firewise program. In 2006, the President of the Taos Pines Ranch Property Owners Association was awarded the Firewise Leadership award at the Backyards & Beyond Conference in Denver, Colorado.
