Potomac Vistas

Potomac VistasPotomac Vistas is a private community located in Washington County, Maryland about 72 miles west of Washington, D.C. and 74 miles west of Baltimore, Maryland. Potomac Vistas is made up of approximately 385 acres of native hardwood (Chestnut Oak, Pignut Hickory, etc.) and has been subdivided into approximately 81 lots with an average lot size of 4.5 acres. Currently, there are 62 dwellings in the neighborhood. Potomac Vistas is mostly wooded with an elevation of 715 feet. In 2007, Potomac Vistas became a nationally recognized Firewise Community. As part of being a nationally recognized Firewise Community, Potomac Vistas took part in a Firewise Community Day on November 17, 2007 where the focus was removing woody, flammable debris from home sites. The debris was then chipped by a local tree service. Future plans for Firewise Community projects include obtaining new street signs for the community’s five roads and sponsoring a community day to ensure all homes are labeled with visible house numbers.

The Potomac Vistas Property Owner’s Association (PVPOA) is currently made up of seven Board positions and a Firewise Community Representative. Victor Strosnider, PVPOA community member and Firewise Community Representative works closely in conjunction with the PVPOA Board members. Also working in conjunction with the Potomac Vista’s Firewise Community is Dave Robbins, Wildfire Mitigation Specialist of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources- Forest Service.
